TUCSON, Ariz. — Former Arizona men's head basketball coach Lute Olson is recovering after suffering a stroke over the weekend, the university's athletics department announced.

“He is expected to make a full recovery but will likely need some rehabilitation therapy after his discharge from the hospital,” said Dr. David Labiner, chairman of the UA Department of Neurology, in a release.

Olson led the Wildcats to the 1997 national championship win over Kentucky. He also oversaw the team on five Final Four runs during his 25-year tenure in Tucson.

He was inducted to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2002 and the College Basketball Hall of Fame in 2006. The university's court at the McKale Center is named after Olson.
