GLENDALE, Ariz.—  Police released the name and mug shot of a man who was shot and killed by officers after a pursuit through the Valley Tuesday.

According to the Glendale Police Department, 24-year-old Timothy Odell Leon had committed a string of armed robberies, including three armed carjacking in the days prior to the pursuit that ended in a police shooting.

On Tuesday, Phoenix officers responded to an armed robbery call at 32nd Street and Thomas Road just before 3 p.m. Leon left the scene in a car that was recognized as a car that was stolen. Phoenix officers followed Leon all the way to 63rd and Maryland avenues, where they say he tried to flee the car and pointed a gun at officers.
